President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Suleiman Hassan as the new Minister of Environment.
His appointment followed the resignation of the former Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibrin, who is now the Emir of Nasarawa in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Until his appointment, Hassan was the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing.
Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, in a statement on Thursday night, said the President picked Hassan on Wednesday.
Recall that earlier in 2017, the Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, had resigned to join the United Nations.
