In a special National Honours award of great Nigerians, and the principal awardee MKO which is still on as at the time of filing this report. President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR, amazed Nigerians for seizing the opportunity to apologize to Nigerians for the change of Democracy day from June 29,to June 12 which is the actual date to which it should.
June 12,1993 is now 25 years that the principal awardee lost his life in an account of achieving democracy. Abiola was known for his passion to transform Nigeria and its citizens into a better standard but it was quite unfortunate that he couldn’t make it becoming the president.
The entire program revolved around the circle of MKO’s dignity and Buhari was proud of him in his speech.
Buhari at the tail end of his speech apologized to Nigerians for suffering inconveniences in the change of date of the Democracy day. ” I am apologize for the inconveniences I have put you through as a result of the change of date in regards to the Nigeria Democracy day which was earlier 29th June to 12 June”,he said.
