Zamfara Youth group’s rally holds today

The Northern Youth Assembly, a youth pressure group, is holding a grand rally today to register home their grievances against what it described as “the incessant show of shame and ineptitude toward the plight of the people of Zamfara State by the state assembly and the executive arm of government.”

In a statement signed by the state chairman of the youth group, Mallam Munnir Haidara and the publicity secretary, Mallam Mustapha Hassan Musa, respectively, said the state during the last five years has witnessed series of inconsistencies in policy direction and implementation, and has negated the development of the citizens.

The youth assembly noted with regret that the state has been lagging behind in almost all indices of human development going by the realities and figures on ground.

The release observed that the negligence of important sectors like Education, Health, Agriculture and employment has “turned our society into a state of hopelessness, while in addition, the state government has for many years, defied the plight of civil servants by denying them their due entitlements, just as pensioners are owed unpaid benefits of over N4billion”.
