World footballer of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo; his rival and top Barcelona FC strike, Lionel Messi; former France captain and coach of Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane; former African Footballer of the Year, Abedi Pele, among others are expected to in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, for an international novelty football match.
Former African and World footballer of the year, George Opone Weah, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, former African footballer of the year, Nwankwo Kanu and Ex-Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha are also expected to be part of the epoch match.
The game is expected to be played at the Abuja National Stadium on May 21, 2017, and it is being organized by Next2None Support Initiative with the theme: Africa My Africa.
Barr. Ndukwe Sam Obu, who is the chairman of Next2None Support Initiative, said his organisation decided to use football for its campaign because it speaks the language of love, peace, hope and unity.
Ndukwe further said, since most of the victims of human trafficking like sports, the event will help them know that they can do other meaningful activities.
Also speaking at the briefing, Nze Elvis Agukwe, the international coordinator of the project said the proceeds from the novelty match would be given to the victims of human trafficking and insurgency.
He described terrorism and human trafficking as twin evils that require the support of every well-meaning individual and organisation.
