Taraba State governor, Mr. Darius Ishaku has urged the federal government to refund over N27 billion spent to construct federal government roads in the state.
Ishaku, who spoke to journalists yesterday in Jalingo through his commissioner for workers, Dr. Tafarki Agbadu Eneme said the Federal Ministry of Workers last year sent a team of auditors to the state to investigate the amount spent by the state government on the federal government roads and that after their investigation, no refund was made up till now.
He noted that the state government is expecting refund of over N11 billion spent on Beli, Sarti Gembu road, over N12. 4billion on Sunkani Garba Chade road and over N2 billion spent on Kona road.
He explained that Governor Ishaku since assumption of office has done well in constructing major township roads in the state.
He informed that the state government within few years in office has constructed so many federal government roads without refund.
He stressed that plans are also on the way to rehabilitate Daka and Gassol roads.
