BY JACKSON AHIABA – Abuja

There is no doubt that the APC led federal government under the leadership of president Muhammadu Buhari is almost two years after its inauguration on the 29th of May 2015.

During the inauguration of president Muhammadu Buhari on may 29th 2015, in his speech promised Nigerians that his administration is committed to eradicating corruption in our polity as well as revamping the economy and the war against the deadly Islamist sect called Boko Haram. Within two years of president Muhammadu administration Nigerians has witnessed significant changes ranging from revolution in the agricultural sector , the fight against grafts and the reorganization of the civil service.

One major achievement of this administration is the recent rescue of the abducted chibok girls that were held hostage since 2014 during the administration of former president GoodLuck Jonathan. The APC government has received global commendation for degrading and annihilating the deadly terrorist group known as Boko Haram. This feat was achieved through the effort of multinational joint task force in collaboration with some independent negotiator hired by the Nigerian government to negotiate with the Islamic sect leader.

The Buhari administration brought confidence to the Armed forces by increasing the budgetary allocation to the defense sector which has led to the procurement of additional weaponry to combat insurgency in the North Eastern part where the war is intense, contrary to the previous government which was alleged to have used the Boko –Haram imbroglio as a conduit pipe to siphon Nigeria resources all in the name of fighting insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country.

Another remarkable breakthrough this government has made in our democratic journey is her zero tolerance for corruption.
If we are to reminisce since the coming of this administration there have been avalanche recovery of stolen wealth from the past government who governed the country since when democracy was restored back to the country from 1999 till date. This government was able to provide enabling environment for the anti- corruption agency to carry out its enormous task without meddling in to the affairs of the commission.

I think Nigerians needs to commend president Muhammadu Buhari for the choice of appointing Mr. Ibrahim Magu Mustapha. The amount of looted fund recovered under magu is of unquantifiable proportion compare to some of his predecessors who had held that particular position; this alone has shown that the APC led federal government is determine to fight corruption.
The last administration had condone corruption in all ramification to the extend that corruption was defined in their own term as not stealing but a mere pick pocket, the president administration hate the malady call corruption even a high profile person in their own inner cabinet who was involved in corrupt practices under the presidential initiative of North East commission[ PINE] was recently suspended from the government in order to give way for further investigation into the matter.

On the economy the present administration has come up with a good economy blue print aimed at stabilizing and taking the country out of the current economy down-turn call recession. The new economy recovery growth plan by the federal government would help the government to provide millions of jobs for the teaming population and this will in turn help the government to diversify her economy from mono-economy to multi- economy that will lead the country to promise land.

on the international relations and diplomacy, the president Buhari administration has demonstrated a strong leadership quality in its effort to promote its big brother in Africa status, through regular attendance in international and diplomatic affairs. The constant diplomatic engagement with other western nation and African countries by president Buhari has brought a stupendous foreign directs investment in to Nigeria. President Buhari also play a fundamental role which culminated to the installation of President Adama Barrow of Gambia by deploying Nigerians troops to ensure that the recalcitrant erstwhile Gambia ‘Mafia’ leader Yahaya Jamaye relinquished power to the elected leader.

The role of the civil service in any government either in democratic or military rule cannot be undermine.
it was on this premise that, the Buharis government see the civil service as the engine room for the delivery of good governance of his administration.
Immediately the APC led federal government came on board the government of president Muhammadu Buhari introduce the Treasury Single Account[ TSA] to block all avenue of corrupt practices in the civil service; this policy has helped the present administration to save stupendous sum of money from illicit practice.
It was also under this administration that Nigerians got to know that 23,000 Ghost worker exist in federal civil service pay role.
