NAPRS calls for govt funding of private schools

The National Secretary of National Association of private schools Mazi Enyinnaya Harbor has called on government at various levels to look inward towards funding the private school education in Nigeria.

Mazi Harbor, who made the call at the 13th NAPRS day celebration, noted with dismay the governments’ inability to meet the mandatory budgetary allocation to education.

He draws attention of the governments to high interest rates demand by commercial banks, and the call by parents to reduce the school fees, which has increase the debt burden of the private institutions.

He therefore calls on governments and parents to take the education of young people as a responsibility.
